We have throughout history had uses for stones, Sometimes they have been used because they look nice or because they are hard to find and therefore showed as a sign of wealth. They have been regarded as physical decorations for many years, but the true knowledge of what they are and what they do is not really understood.

These days it is more widely known that stones have special qualities that if understood and used correctly, give us a great deal of help in maintaining our health and well being. They can also provide us with connecting to our Higherselves and push us ever higher in our spiritual growth.

Sadly some of the attributes given to stones are not entirely correct. Many times, there are ways of using stones and information that is taught about crystal and minerals that can either be untrue or can even cause harmful effects. People work with Crysals and Gemstones either using them separately for a purpose, or combine them together in a way that does not harmonise or work.

Gemstones are extremely powerful in their properties and ways of healing, and should be treated with respect and used in the correct ways. They come from Mother Earth and have a vital role in the energies of our planet, surroundings and even our health and behaviour without us even being aware of it.

There is a cosmic energy that “rains” continuously onto our Earth and everything on it which contains the whole spectrum of colors. When it hits a specific mineral, this mineral soaks up a part of the “rain’ and a specific color. The color it soaks up depends on the base structure of the mineral: that is, the presence of any metallic compounds, its atomic weight, roughness, crystalline form, size, etc.
